Wiston/Wissington church has been looked at several times, by Graham Brundell, Frances Barker and Ellie Mead. The compass mark above, which is typically termed as a *scratch dial* has, in this instance a line of heavily abraded text within it. To the best of our knowledge no one has deciphered the lettering.

Most of these remaining photos are of the font as there is little graffiti in the main body of the church. However the door jambs in the south porch have a good selection of graffiti. Interestingly this church had Nicholas le Gryce as vicar, the same Nicholas who graffiti'd about the repairs he caused to have made to Alphamstone church chancel.
